The multi-award winning Silverstream Alpaca Stud offers two luxurious self-contained farm-stay cottages on a Bed and Breakfast basis. Our major point of difference is the inclusion of an escorted 45 minute farm tour to see and feed the alpacas. The departure time of the tour will be confirmed on arrival at Silverstream. By staying at Silverstream Alpaca Stud, we include the farm tour for free – that is a $40 saving per person.
The cottages sleep a total of five guests per cottage and both cottages are identical apart from the décor.
There are two bedrooms – one bedroom has a Queen bed and the other bedroom has two single beds and a rollaway can be supplied for a fifth person.
The farm-stay cottage facilities include two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge, modern kitchen and a carport. The kitchens have just been renovated and include an electric hobs, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, rice cooker, toaster, electric jug, cutlery and crockery.
Heating is from a commercial heat pump located in the lounge and there are also electric blankets on every bed. The heat pump also acts as an air conditioner in the summer months. We can also supply an electric fan if required.
Tea, coffee, sugar and milk are supplied free of charge.
Also included in the cottages are new smart TV’s, board games, a safe for protecting your valuables, an iron and ironing board, toiletries and extra blankets and pillows for your added comfort
The farm stay accommodation opens out onto a patio that overlooks the alpacas housed in the nearby paddocks. Comfortable deck chairs are located on the patio so that you can soak up the sun while you admire the alpacas.
NOTE -Babies and children are charged at the supplementary rate of $30 per person for reservation purposes. We do not charge premiums during busy summer months nor do we discount in the quiet winter months

Silverstream Alpaca Stud is a busy working farm and therefore we only supply breakfast. Guests can either prepare their meals in the cottage kitchen or they can drive into KAIAPOI, a five minute drive from our farm.
Kaiapoi, a town of 12,000 people has European, Thai, Chinese, Indian, Moroccan, Japanese restaurants and many take away facilities. There are also two large supermarkets if you wish to prepare your own meals. Most facilities close at 9.00pm.

New smart TV’s have been installed in our farm stay cottages and hundreds of movies are available using Netflix.
The farm stay accommodation opens out onto a patio that overlooks the alpacas housed in the nearby paddocks. There is an outdoor barbecue, a basketball hoop and a trampoline for the kids. There are plenty of board games not to mention plenty of interesting walks. There is even a nearby McDonalds.
Our B&B farm stay cottages have modern heat pumps for heating and cooling and the only noise is that of the nearby stream. One cottage has a South American theme and the other cottage an African theme that are both tastefully decorated.
Breakfasts are delivered in the evening so that you are not disturbed too early the next morning.
